Fleetwood Golf Club has a long tradition of developing junior golf and has a proud record of those who have gone on to represent the Club at adult level. The Club offers youngsters the opportunity to learn a new sport and make new friends in a safe and secure environment. There is an active Junior Committee committed to developing junior golf within the club. The committe is headed by the Junior Organiser, Andrew Aukland who will be pleased to answer any questions prospective juniors and their parents have about the club.

The Committee have a Development Plan for 2011-12 which includes:-

Regular free coaching sessions throughout the season with the Club Professional, Ian Taylor.

Coaching is based around the "Get into Golf" National Skills Challenge. This is a scheme aimed at making practice fun whilst teaching juniors how to practice effectively and improve their golfing skills. More information is available at www.getintogolf.org/skills

A full fixture list of competitions with trophies for juniors who have a handicap and opprotunities exists for those without a handicap to enter "mini competitions".

Work in progress to apply for the prestigious "Golf Mark Award", a national scheme organised by the English Golf Union/English Women's Golf Association to regognise high standards of junior and beginner golf faciltites.

New junior members at the Club, both boys and girls, are always welcome. The Club is committed to complying with the requirements of the Child Protection Act ensuring that juniors can develop their skills in a safe environment. The parent/guardian of any new junior must compete a Junior Profile Form and a Consent Form confirming that they have received and read our Code of Conduct, Club Rules and Course Risk Assessment. Junior members must also commit to the codes. These forms must be completed annually and prior to any activity taking place on the course or its practice areas.

Juniors are taken into the Club from age 5 upwards and it is the policy of the Club to make junior fee rates affordable to all families. For 2011-12 the fees are:-
